St. Aloysius Gonzaga – Jesuit seminarian

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, Jesuit seminarian, who died this day in 1591, at age 23 years.

I was made aware of St. Aloysius from watching the Gonzaga University Bulldog basketball team during one of their 15 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament appearances. Despite their numerous appearances, Gonzaga has never made it to the Final Four.

Here is a short video on Gonzaga (the Saint, not the basketball team.)
